We carry valves to suit most any application. The most popular are the AV1B, plated brass lever style. They have tapered valve seats for long, no wear, life. All metal valves can be self threaded into PVC pipe by first drilling an undersized hole, then thread valve into the plastic pipe by hand or chuck barb on straight valves and drive in with a screwgun style drill. Or, for ease of installation (AV1, AV4, AV1B or AVW1TB) use a Tap to thread the holes first. For use on drip feed water systems use #AWV1TB, which is a plastic valve designed for water service to be leakproff. Good for use on water or air systems. Threading Taps:
All of our taps are high grade HSS (High Speed Steel) for much longer life than cheap Carbon Steel taps. These HSS taps can even be used on steel without damage. 1/8” NPT used for threading holes in PVC pipe to accept Air Valve #AV1. Makes installing a Centralized Air System a simple task. Drill 11/32” holes for 1/8NPT or 1/4”hole for 1/16NPT, then run tap to 1/2 depth with Screw Gun at slow speed and reverse out of hole. 1/16NPT taps use 1/4” or 7/32 drill bit. 10-32 tap use 5/32 or #21 drill bit.

Air or Water Emitters: Use for creating inexpensive drip water feed systems. Easily installed in flexible tubing by first drilling or puncturing a small hole, then press fitting emitter into hole. Use on low pressure water supplies only, (12 PSI). Emitters will provide a drip flow of water at a fixed rate of flow (actual output may be slightly more or less depending on input pressure), choose from either 1/2 gph or 2 gph flow rates. If using for air use #AWE.5 for small aquariums and #AWE2 for larger deep tanks. These emitters can also be installed in PVC pipe by using a short piece of airline tubing as a collar fitted over the barb section.

Regenerative Blower and Air Pump Accessories

Threaded Exhaust or Air Diffusers: Used primarily as bleed silencers for Regenerative Blowers to prevent the rushing sound of air escaping.. Can also be used as air diffusers under water by threading directly into PVC pipe or into threaded fittings.

When used as bleed silencers; if sized correctly a seperate adjustable bleed valve is not normally needed. Just thread into PVC distribution piping or install anywhere you can place a threaded fitting such as a “Tee”, etc.

Most installations with our smallest blower (1/3 HP) can use one 1/4 exhaust diffuser and have adequate bleed to prevent excessive back pressure on this size blower. Larger blowers such as 1/2HP or larger may need 2 or more of the 1/4” size. The Largest Blowers may need to use 1/2” size with a throttling valve to control amount of bleed. All installations are different and you should inquire if you have any doubt as to how much you need to bleed (if any).

NOTE: When using Regenerative Blowers it is important to bleed off excess air if you are under-utilizing the blower. Too much back pressure causes overheating, potential motor damage, potential impeller failure, and excessive electricity consumption (by as much as 40%).
